Cainine Enrichment & Training Day Camp

Coming in 2026!

At Blue Dingo Academy, we believe dogs benefit from time with canine friends, but large groups and unstructured play are not the best fit for many dogs.

As trainers and dog professionals, one of the most common things we hear from clients who have used more traditional exercise options is, “My dog comes home tired, but now we’re seeing new behavior issues,” or, “My dog loves daycare, but now he completely loses his mind when he sees other dogs.” One of our least favorite things to hear is, “My dog walker let my dog get into a scuffle.”

We hear you, and we get it.

A lot of traditional exercise options meet a dog’s physical needs, but not always their behavioral or emotional needs. A dog walker may give your dog 30 to 60 minutes of exercise, but that can also mean 30 to 60 minutes of pulling on the leash, practicing bad habits, and forgetting all their manners.

Traditional daycares can also be loud, chaotic, and overwhelming. Long hours, big groups, too much stimulation, and not enough rest can create problems instead of preventing them. Dogs may be having fun in the moment, but that does not always mean the environment is healthy or appropriate for them.

Over time, that kind of setup can contribute to issues like leash reactivity, overstimulation, regression in training, increased barking, difficulty settling, poor social skills, resource guarding, and even dog aggression. It can also create dogs who need more and more activity just to feel tired, while learning habits like mounting, scavenging, and ignoring people in favor of the environment around them.

At Blue Dingo Academy, we take a different approach.

We believe healthy dog-to-dog play has value, but it should be safe, supervised, and balanced. Dogs do best when social time is matched to their temperament, play style, arousal level, and individual needs. They also need structure, rest, guidance, and time to learn.

Our program is built to provide exercise, enrichment, training, and social time in a more intentional environment. Dogs in our care are not simply dropped into a large group and left to figure it out. We focus on structured activity, appropriate rest, guided social experiences, and building skills throughout the day.

Our goal is not just to send dogs home tired. Our goal is to send them home fulfilled, successful, and better prepared to function in everyday life with their families.

Blue Dingo Academy is meant to be fun, but it is also meant to be purposeful. We want dogs to enjoy their day, build healthy social skills, practice good habits, and get the kind of support that helps them both at home and out in the world.

With our background in training, daycare, boarding, pet care, and preparing dogs for service work, Blue Dingo Academy incorporates skills like coming when called, settling when asked, sit, down, leave it, and appropriate socialization. Our goal is a well-rounded dog, not just an overtired, overstimulated one. We do not believe dogs need endless hours in a group setting to be happy and fulfilled. For many dogs, a few hours with friends in a controlled environment is plenty.

Each dog will have an individual training curriculum to work through with a trainer or apprentice trainer with their play group. *Private lessons can also be booked to work on additional behaviors outside of the playgroup setting. You will receive homework, along with photos and videos showing what your dog worked on each day.

Coming Soon in 2026!

  • Dogs should be comfortable around dogs of varying sizes, ages, and breeds. For safety, we are unable to address aggression or severe separation anxiety in the academy setting.

  • Rabies, kennel cough, and a distemper/parvo/leptospirosis combination vaccine are required.

  • To see the best results, we recommend attendance at least once per week.

  • As we are not a free-for-all daycare facility, female dogs are not required to be spayed until 2 years of age. However, they are not permitted to attend while in season and must remain out of the academy for a minimum of 2 weeks after their heat cycle ends. Because hormonal and behavioral changes can continue after a cycle, this policy helps us support each dog’s comfort while maintaining a stable group environment.

  • Males do not need to be neutered to attend, as long as they do not pose a threat to themselves or others. We may refuse an intact male if issues arise with other dogs. In our experience competing in sports, running daycares, and working service dogs, intact males can sometimes draw unwanted attention from other males in a group setting, which is why we recommend neutering by 2 years of age for dogs in our program.

  • We do not use electronic collars, prong collars, or choke collars in the academy setting.

  • Because we share space with neighbors, dogs who struggle with excessive barking may need a different exercise or enrichment plan if training and management are not successful in reducing the behavior.

  • We reserve the right to refuse services at any time based on temperament or health. The academy is not meant to address anxiety or aggression-related issues; private lessons are more appropriate for those concerns.
