Our Approach: At Blue Dingo Consulting, we want what you want: a happy, well-behaved pet dog who is a joy to live with. We believe that real, lasting results are built on communication and trust, ensuring that both you and your dog get your needs met.
We focus on the simple principle that effective training should be reward-based and positive for everyone involved. We teach you how to motivate your dog, focusing on clear and efficient methods that help your dog make great choices. Our goal is to create true behavioral success in real-world scenarios, built on cooperation rather than conflict.
Dog Training and Behavior Modification
Science-Driven Success: You can feel confident that the methods we use are the safest and most effective available. Our team is dedicated to modern training methods because they work. We stay up-to-date on the newest behavioral science, animal ethology, and Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive (LIMA) protocols. This dedication to continuous learning guarantees that the guidance we provide is always safe, ethical, and backed by the best modern knowledge.
Beyond the Treats (Functional Reinforcement): Many people assume reward-based training means you must carry treats in your hand forever. That is not how we work! While food is a fantastic tool for initial learning, our focus is on identifying and utilizing a wide variety of rewards that are genuinely meaningful to your unique dog. True motivation comes in many forms. Whether it’s enthusiastic praise, a favorite toy, a game of tug, a good belly rub, or even the exciting opportunity to go sniff a tree on a walk, we teach you how to use "real-life rewards" to make training fun and ensure success when treats aren't in the picture.
Meeting You Where You Are -
We do not use or endorse tools that cause pain or discomfort. However, we understand that you may have received different advice in the past. If you are currently using these tools, please know this is a judgment-free zone. We will never berate or criticize you for your choices; this is your dog. Our goal is simply to show you another way and help you achieve your goals using modern, positive techniques that strengthen your bond every step of the way.
Real Life, Real Dogs
At Blue Dingo Consulting, we believe in real life with real dogs. We will never judge you for letting your pup snuggle on the sofa, sleep in your bed, or even share a bite from your plate. It's your dog and your home! As long as everyone is safe and happy, we are simply here to help you enjoy that life together.
Our Commitment to LIMA
(Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive)
Your pet’s physical and emotional safety is our absolute priority. Blue Dingo Consulting is proud to ascribe to the LIMA effective behavior intervention policies. This standard means we always choose the smartest, least restrictive way to help your dog succeed before considering anything else. We focus on encouraging the behavior you do want rather than using force. We want training to be the best part of your dog's day!
In accordance with this ethical standard and our commitment to force-free methods, we do not use prong collars, electronic collars, slip leads, choke chains, air horns, spray bottles, or rattle cans in our training.
Our training staff collectively holds professional certifications from the most respected organizations in the industry, including: L.E.G.S.® Applied Ethology Family Dog Mediator, Fear Free Certified Professional (FFCP), International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC), Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CPDT-KA), American Kennel Club (AKC) CGC Evaluator

Because we offer highly specialized, results-focused training that is customized to the specific needs of each family, we do not have a standard "one size fits all" price list.
Pricing varies depending on the type of program, duration, and your specific training goals. We offer a variety of distinct services, including:

Yes! At Blue Dingo Consulting, we understand that modern life is busy and that intensive early training is critical for long-term success. We offer several hybrid and day-training options where our professional trainers take the lead on teaching your dog foundational behaviors, helping them develop reliable skills faster than traditional weekly classes alone.
These programs are excellent for busy families, focusing on efficient, high-quality learning tailored to your dog's specific needs.
Our training options include:
Day Training: We work one-on-one with your dog during the day and then hold transfer sessions to show you how to maintain their great new behaviors.
Puppy Headstart: A short, specialized training program focused exclusively on high-priority puppy needs like house training, socialization basics, and crate manners to get your newest family member off to the best possible start.
Training Walks: A certified trainer takes your dog on a dedicated "learning walk," focusing on leash manners and real-world skills.
Socialization Groups: Highly supervised groups that focus on teaching dogs safe and appropriate social skills with other dogs.
Board & Train (Highly Limited): An immersive option where your dog stays and trains in a home environment with one of our professionals.
Please note: While we can build the foundation and install behaviors efficiently, your dog lives with you. For long-term success, owners must participate in transfer sessions to learn the mechanics, cues, and management strategies needed to maintain that training for a lifetime.

Do you train service dogs?
Yes, Blue Dingo Consulting offers specialized service dog training on a highly limited, case-by-case basis. We focus our service dog program strictly on training specific tasks (such as mobility assistance, psychiatric tasking, or retrieval) designed to mitigate the disability-related needs of a handler.
Because of the intensive nature and immense time required for true service dog training, we manage a very small intake list. If you are interested in discussing your potential needs and training goals, please email us directly for more information.
Please note the following regarding our service dog program:
Medical Alert Exclusions: While we train many tasks, we do not train seizure alert or diabetic alert dogs.
Verification Requirement: We do require confirmation from a healthcare provider of a disability-related need for a service animal prior to the commencement of any service dog-specific training.
Public Access Suitability: Public safety and the dog's well-being are paramount. We require all dogs to pass a comprehensive temperament evaluation with us prior to starting any public access training.
Pricing: We strive to keep our services as accessible as possible. However, due to the extreme time commitments needed to train a specialized service dog to professional standards, we are unable to offer discounts on this program. We understand that budget is a primary consideration for many, and we are happy to point you toward reputable non-profit organizations or lower-cost resources that may offer funded or low-cost service dog options.

es, we absolutely welcome (and highly encourage) all family members to be part of the training process.
Successful, long-term behavior change relies heavily on consistency. When everyone in the household understands the training plan and uses the same cues, management strategies, and reward systems, the dog learns faster and maintains desirable behaviors much more reliably.
We especially enjoy involving children in training! It is a fantastic opportunity to teach kids how to communicate clearly and respectfully with animals. We ensure that children’s participation is age-appropriate, focusing on safe interaction and empowering them with simple, successful training tasks they can manage.

We do offer remote sessions on a limited, case-by-case basis, specifically for certain behaviors and needs where virtual training is a suitable option, such as observing behavior in the home environment or coaching on management strategies. Virtual sessions are a flexible, modern approach to training. They allow us to observe, coach, and troubleshoot with you and your dog in the familiar and comfortable environment of your own home, without the added stress of a trainer’s physical presence (which is especially helpful for dogs dealing with severe fear, anxiety, or reactivity). Remote sessions are also a convenient, high-quality solution for families with busy schedules or for those located outside of our immediate service area.

Yes, Blue Dingo Consulting offers a comprehensive apprenticeship program, though positions are open on a highly limited, case-by-case basis.
We believe that the most effective trainers are well-rounded professionals with a deep understanding of every aspect of canine care and business operations. Because of this philosophy, our apprenticeship program is immersive. We prefer that our apprentices learn from and gain hands-on experience in all facets of the company, including:
Pet Care Operations: Mastering safety protocols in dog walking, drop-in care, and pet sitting.
Behavior and Training: Assisting with assessments, private sessions, and group classes across various training levels.
Daycare and Socialization: Understanding group dynamics, supervising play, and managing diverse temperaments.
Client Communication & Admin: Learning the essential customer service and administrative skills that keep the business running smoothly.
This cross-functional approach ensures our apprentices graduate with the diverse skills necessary to succeed in the professional dog world. We are looking for dedicated individuals who are serious about pursuing a career in ethical, science-based animal care and education.
If you are interested in discussing potential apprenticeship opportunities, please email us directly with your resume and a cover letter explaining your professional goals.
